Résumé
World Suicide Prevention Day is held on September 10 each year as an initiative of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), cosponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO). The 2008 theme is "Think Globally, Plan Nationally, Act Locally." This year's theme provides an opportunity for all sectors of the community--the public, charitable organizations, communities, researchers, clinicians, practitioners, politicians and policy makers, volunteers, and those bereaved by suicide--to join with IASP and WHO on World Suicide Prevention Day to focus public attention on the unacceptable burden and costs of suicidal behaviors with diverse activities to promote understanding about suicide and to highlight effective prevention activities.
