Valérie Bourgeois-Guérin

Valérie Bourgeois-Guérin is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and a clinical psychologist. She completed a PhD in Psychology and a master’s in Social Intervention with a specialization in Death Studies at UQAM. She worked on suffering among elderly women with terminal cancer as part of her doctoral thesis. She is currently conducting qualitative research projects on bereavement, end of life and homelessness among the elderly. She is also a regular member of organizations that work on ageing, social exclusion, palliative care and end of life, including the Équipe de recherche en partenariat FRQSC VIES (Vieillissements, exclusions sociales et solidarités), the Réseau Québécois de Recherche sur le Vieillissement, the Réseau québécois de recherche en soins palliatifs et de fin de vie and the Chaire de Recherche sur le Vieillissement et la Diversité Citoyenne.
