Nathalie Maltais

Nathalie Maltais has been a nurse for 30 years now. She has worked in various specialized pediatric and child psychiatry settings. She received the “Membre émérite” award of the Association des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (AQIISM) in 2012. Her doctoral studies focused on the suicide risk assessment process of children under 12 years old by nurses in pediatric mental health settings. Dr. Maltais is professor in the health sciences department of Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) since 2016, where she teaches counseling, systemic approaches, crisis intervention and pediatric mental health. Her research interests focus on nursing sciences interventions in suicide prevention, mental health and more specifically, pedopsychiatric mental health. She recently joined on the board of directors of Ordre régional des infirmières et infirmiers de Chaudière-Appalaches (ORIICA).
