Suicide risk assessment instruments

Résumé

This chapter presents information on rating scales used to predict suicidal behaviour including the Hilson Adolescent Profile and the Suicide Probability Scale. Some other scales including one to predict future suicide in individuals who have attempted suicide are reviewed. Scales which can be used to measure suicidal ideation, intent hopelessness (including a scale for children), and the lethality of a suicide attempt are also discussed.
