Résumé
The purpose of this doctoral project was to design a user-friendly manual to help facilitate better assessment and intervention related to issues of youth suicidality for practicing specialist-level school psychologists. The design of this manual was justified based on an identified lack of training and experience related to youth suicidality during graduate level training for specialist-level school psychologists. A review of the extant literature on youth suicidality, specifically related to school assessment and intervention, helped to inform the contents of the resulting manual, along with input from three practicing specialist-level school psychologists. This information was critically evaluated and included in the manual based on its ability to help inform assessment and intervention in the moment. The resulting manual is a pocket-sized resource that can be used during risk assessment to help guide assessment and intervention for specialist-level school psychologists.
