Intelligent videosurveillance in the detection of suicidal behaviors: Professor Wassim Bouachir receives a grant for his important research program
Wassim Bouachir, Professor in the Department of Science and Technology at TÉLUQ University and Researcher at the Centre for Research and Intervention on Suicide, Ethical Issues and End-of-Life Practices, has recently received a 5-year grant of $132,500 from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
This grant will serve to further Professor Bouachir’s important research program on Intelligent video surveillance for abnormal event detection. This program aims to use artificial intelligence in videosurveillance. The aim is to endow videosurveillance systems with an algorithm that allow automatic interpretation of videos to quickly detect specific behaviors, such as suicide attempts.
Congratulations to Professor Bouachir and his research team!
