Rock-André Blondin is a PhD student in Humanistic Psychology at Université du Québec à Montréal under the direction of Professor Valérie Bourgeois-Guérin. His research interests focus on elder suicide, practitioners who work with this population and intergenerational relations. His doctoral research seeks to better understand the life trajectories and experiences of elders who have attempted suicide with the goal of developing more effective intervention strategies in preventing suicide and its impacts. Mr. Blondin is also an accredited trainer with the suicide prevention organization Association québécoise de prévention du suicide (AQPS) and is both a trainer and a worker at the suicide prevention organization Suicide Action Montréal (SAM). As part of his work with SAM, he has worked on developing a suicide prevention project among elders in Montréal and sits on an expert committee on elder suicide for the AQPS.
