Léa Plourde-Léveillé
In September 2015, Léa Plourde-Léveillé pursued her academic studies in Psychology by embarking on a PhD at Université du Québec à Montréal (research and intervention in the community section), under the direction of Professor Brian Mishara. Her objective is to develop an expertise on Indigenous communities in Canada. Her doctoral research will address the difficulties encountered by young members of these communities, particularly with respect to suicide. Despite a critical mass of research that has already been conducted among Indigenous people, very little of it has employed a methodology that takes culture into account. She plans to eventually work directly with members of these communities, with the goal of producing positive outcomes.
