Arlene Laliberté has a PhD in Community Psychology from Université du Québec à Montréal. She is interested in suicide in Indigenous communities, more specifically, the retrospective study of completed suicides. She currently works as a consultant in community well-being at the consulting firm LaLouve. She was a professor at Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue from 2014 to 2016 and Université du Québec en Outaouais from 2012 to 2014. She was a postdoc researcher at Queensland University in Australia, where she participated in a research and action project on the early prevention of suicide risk factors in Indigenous communities. Capacity-building and empowerment inform the work she does. She was also research coordinator at CRISE from 2006 to 2007.
